Role: Grant / Fundraising Director
Location: Remote (occasional travel may be required)

The State Guard & Defense Force Council (StateDefenseForce.com) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Grant / Fundraising Director to help secure funding that supports our mission to aid and strengthen State Defense Forces nationwide.
What You’ll Be Doing
We are looking for someone who can:
• Research and identify federal, state, and private grant opportunities using platforms such as GrantWatch.com, Grants.gov, and other funding directories.
• Analyze grant requirements to determine eligibility and alignment with the mission of the State Guard & Defense Force Council.
• Draft and prepare professional documentation and proposals for grant applications, ensuring compliance with all submission guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with potential grantors, foundation representatives, and agency contacts to build lasting relationships.
• Develop and maintain a database of grant deadlines, funding cycles, and application statuses.
• Provide regular progress reports and recommendations on strategic funding opportunities.
Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development.
• Strong research and analytical skills to evaluate grant eligibility and match potential opportunities.
• Excellent written communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to craft persuasive proposals.
• Confident in outreach and relationship building with foundations, agencies, and donors.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of meeting deadlines independently.
• Familiarity with nonprofit organizations or public service programs (military, emergency response, homeland security) is a plus.
