Oh, Illinois, you never cease to amaze me! In a move that’s sure to make gun owners roll their eyes, a three-judge panel from the Illinois 4th District Appellate Court decided on April 29 that the state’s Firearms Owner Identification (FOID) card scheme is totally constitutional. I mean, who needs the Second Amendment when you’ve got a piece of laminated paper, right? In the case of Guns Save Life v. Kelly, two out of the three judges somehow managed to overlook the obvious and ruled in favor of the FOID card requirement.
