V. I. Silin TKB-464 Unified Machine Gun

Yo, gun enthusiasts! Ever heard of the TKB-464, the Soviet machine gun that’s been flying under the radar? Well, let me introduce you to the mastermind behind it, Vyacheslav Ivanovich Silin. Born in Tula in 1907, this guy started his career at the ripe old age of 12 at the Tula Arms Plant. After a stint in the Red Army, he returned home to work at Tula Central Design Bureau-14, where he honed his skills and graduated from Tula Mechanical College in 1938. Silin spent his entire career in weapons production, moving from TsKB-14 to the Central Design and Research Bureau of Sporting and Hunting Arms. Under his watch, a bunch of military equipment was developed, some of which made it to the battlefield, while others remained cool prototypes. So, if you’re into obscure Soviet firearms, Silin’s your man!
