Moore’s framing isn’t just divisive—it’s a calculated pivot from his state’s skyrocketing crime rates under lax enforcement policies, where Baltimore’s murder rate rivals war zones. Trump, by contrast, championed criminal justice reforms like the First Step Act, which disproportionately benefited Black Americans by reducing sentences for non-violent offenders, and pushed for opportunity zones that funneled billions into underserved urban areas.
But here’s where it gets spicy for the 2A community: Moore’s home turf, Maryland, is a gun control dystopia with may-issue concealed carry permits handed out like rare Pokémon cards, assault weapon bans, and magazine limits that leave law-abiding citizens defenseless amid rising violence. Under his watch, Black communities in cities like Baltimore suffer homicide rates over 50 per 100,000—far outpacing national averages—yet Moore’s solution isn’t empowering self-defense rights but scapegoating Trump and stoking racial guilt among white America. This is the same playbook Democrats used to demonize law-abiding gun owners as racists, conveniently overlooking how restrictive laws disarm the very minorities they claim to protect.
