  • SIG P226 X5 Nightmare & Extreme: 5-inch bull barrels, Hogue G10 grips, nickel-plated controls, MSRP $2,500 each

Pros

The EP9 RDB promises the same reliability and no-lube operation as the current model while adding a roller-delayed system that “makes things a little bit more pleasant to shoot.” At roughly half the price of competing roller-delayed PCCs, it could open the category to a wider audience. The Beretta 94X Performance brings higher-capacity magazines and a lower optic mount without sacrificing the 90-series ergonomics enthusiasts already like.

Cons

Without hands-on time, questions remain about long-term durability of the ultra-light RDB and whether the $6,500 VT5SD can justify a price higher than an HK SP5 plus suppressor. Pricing for the 94X Performance has not yet been released, and cross-compatibility issues with legacy 90-series magazines may frustrate existing owners.

“If this thing works well, like the EP9 does, that’s an insane price point for it,” host John Patton said of the forthcoming EP9 RDB. “I would love to hear your thoughts on this down in the comments. Would you go with something like this to add to your collection?”
