WOOX now sells 1911 grip panels handmade in Italy, extending a range that had covered rifle stocks along with axes and knives. Buyers can choose Claro grade American walnut or Micarta in Plain, Diamond or X-Grip textures, and both options use reinforced bushings at the screws to limit cracking.

Northern California walnut is oil finished by hand, with about one blank in 25 accepted for figure and density, while Micarta is a linen, canvas or paper composite set in resin that holds shape in wet or cold conditions. Full-size panels suit Government and Commander frames and mil-spec clones from Colt, Kimber, Springfield Armory and others, excluding Officer and Compact models.

The Minelli family has worked walnut in Bergamo since 1937 and runs U.S. operations in Hickory, North Carolina, listing walnut at 89 dollars and Micarta at 79 dollars with 30-day returns plus lifetime support.
