Hayden Walkush, a University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point wildlife master's candidate, received the Fellow Outstanding Achievement Award from the Boone and Crockett Club, announced in Missoula, Montana. The honor recognizes graduate research that advances Club goals and informs North American natural resource policy, and Walkush has been a fellow since undergraduate studies while tracking black bear travel through working forests, elk restoration lands, and heavy hunting under advisor Cady Sartini at the Wisconsin Center for Wildlife. Club members helped revive a million-dollar project covering his work, and Theodore Roosevelt founded the group in 1887.
