New Lever-Action Line from Dura
Turkish manufacturer Dura is expanding into lever-action rifles with its new RAN series. The standard RAN model offers 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum and 45 Long Colt chamberings, a 20-inch threaded barrel, walnut furniture with M-Lok slots, a big-loop lever and a scout rail. Capacity is 10 rounds in 357 and nine in the larger calibers, with an MSRP of $849. A tactical variant, the Rand Iron Wolf, shortens the barrel to 18 inches and swaps the wood for a skeleton stock and AR-style handguard at a $1,000 MSRP. Rounding out the trio is the rimfire TM22 Lever, which shares magazines with Dura’s TM22 semi-auto and carries a $400 price tag.

Industry Data and Commentary
The NSSF reports more than 32 million AR-platform rifles produced between 1990 and 2023—nearly one million per year on average. Federal has signed a deal to supply the U.S. Army with 40 million Peak Alloy high-pressure cases, while FN Browning Group has acquired Accuracy International. Host John Patton questioned the value of the Lancer pistol, noting component costs near $960 against a $2,225 sticker price, and expressed skepticism about future AR-style pistol-caliber carbines in 44 Magnum.
“If these guns function well, the pricing really doesn’t offend me here,” Patton said of the Dura levers. “We shall see if they do when they bring them to GunCon this year in Niles, Ohio.”
