A rare World War II Welwand pistol in .22LR sold at auction for $3,000 through Centurion Auctions. Designed as a disposable single-shot suppressed weapon for SOE use, fewer than 100 were made and just two survive.
The ATF classified this example as a GCA Curio and Relic after research, exempting it from NFA rules. It belonged to Captain Peter Mason, who served in the SOE and SAS before later work with MI6. The other known example is held by a British museum.
