Midwest Industries has introduced the CRM HD rifle, a Combat Rail MLOK Heavy Duty AR-15 built for users who need high performance that still holds up under severe use. The company, with more than two decades in the industry, designed it after seeing demand from special operations and conventional forces for a platform that can carry optics, lasers, lights, and similar gear while remaining serviceable in harsh environments.

The standout feature is a thicker combat handguard plus a new barrel nut and mounting system that the maker says is among the most rigid available, yet still fits standard AR-15 upper receivers. Barrel and trigger remain central, but the rail’s stiffness is treated as essential for accessory-heavy missions. The rifle is positioned against offerings from firms such as Heckler & Koch, Geissele, Daniel Defense, Sons of Liberty Gun Works, and LWRC, at a lower price by skipping purely cosmetic extras.
