I am a fan of S&W’s M&P line of pistols. I’ve owned a few of them and have reviewed even more. The M&P line goes way back to 1899, with the introduction of what is now known as the Model 10 .38 Special revolver. (This was the handgun that introduced that very famous cartridge). It was called the “Military & Police Revolver, Model 1899” and was very popular with both police units and civilians. The M&P moniker hung around through the ensuing decades, appeared in WWII, and has gone on strong since then.
