SB Tactical has introduced the SBA6 as an updated pistol brace that builds on the SBA3 with changes drawn from user input on that model and earlier designs. The 2023 ATF stabilizing brace rule has been vacated or enjoined in court, and the agency is taking steps to delete the language that rule added, though other legal questions and state rules can still apply.
The SBA6 attaches to a standard mil-spec carbine receiver extension, offers five positions of length adjustment, and includes an ambidextrous quick-detach sling point. It weighs 8.5 ounces, compared with 6.75 ounces for the SBA3, and feels more rigid while keeping a compact outline. A reviewer mounted one on a 10mm AR-style pistol that had used a slim blade brace, gaining extra contact area without filing NFA paperwork or adding required markings.
