Montana game wardens finished a years-long look into unlawful taking of deer, antelope and birds in McCone County. Thirteen people faced more than 80 charges spanning a decade, with 89 citations bringing $36,785 in penalties and 44 years of hunting rights taken away. Three out-of-state hunters got lifetime bans in Montana, while landowner Kelly Nelson of the Vida area lost eight years of privileges after a plea.
Over 100 mounts, antlers and horns from deer and antelope were seized or turned in. One remaining case still awaits action by the county attorney.
