Mathews Archery has completed a shift to employee ownership as it nears 35 years in business. Matt McPherson, who started the firm in 1992, remains chief executive and chief engineer and will keep working with the current leadership group.

The Sparta, Wisconsin company designs and builds premium target and hunting bows in the United States and sells them through independent dealers worldwide. Daily operations, leadership, and support for retailers and customers stay the same.

The new structure is meant to keep the firm’s focus on innovation, technology, and its place in the archery community while giving staff a stake in what comes next.
