Magnum Research Adds Threaded Barrel to Desert Eagle; CZ, Staccato and Beretta Also Debut New Models

Listen to Article

Magnum Research has introduced the first factory-threaded-barrel Desert Eagle, offered exclusively in black. The 6-inch barrel carries the standard .50 Beowulf 49/64×20 thread pattern and ships with a dedicated piston to ensure reliable cycling when a suppressor is mounted. The pistol retains the familiar gas-operated, rotating-bolt action, weighs 4 lb unloaded and carries an estimated MSRP near $2,000.

Pros

  • Factory threading eliminates the need to cut and thread aftermarket barrels.
  • Included piston optimizes function with suppressors.
  • Standard .50 AE chambering and 49/64×20 thread pitch maintain compatibility with existing .50 Beowulf cans.

Cons

  • Only available in black; chrome finishes are not offered on the threaded model.
  • MSRP remains high, around $2,000.

Additional Releases

CZ rolled out a ported P-10 C variant cut for the Aimpoint ACRO footprint; the optic is included and the MSRP is $179. Staccato introduced the steel-frame P4X 2011-style pistol that accepts Glock magazines, adding roughly eight ounces over its aluminum-frame sibling and carrying a $3,600 price tag. Beretta unveiled the A400 L Field, a walnut-upgraded 12-gauge semiauto with a 28-inch barrel and 3-inch chamber priced at $3,619.

“If you are a lunatic like me and have a suppressor for a small 50 cal, you can see one over one of my shoulders,” host John Patton remarked, underscoring the long-awaited convenience of the new Desert Eagle configuration.
