Kent Police became the first UK force to choose the FN 15 ASR carbine after the Metropolitan Police established the Police Primary Carbine System Framework in early 2026 allowing the 48 forces to buy from six approved models without separate tenders. Seven forces have selected the FN 15 ASR so far with more expected. The AR-15 pattern rifle built for law enforcement weighs 6.78 pounds with sights and empty magazine, is fully ambidextrous, and comes unsuppressed or with an Ase Utra DUAL556-S-BL Gen 2 suppressor not regulated under ITAR.
