The Irregular Warfare Center in Arlington, Virginia has launched Irregular Warfare 120: The Future of Conflict, Irregular Warfare, and Homeland Defense, a self-paced online course open to defense practitioners, interagency partners, national security professionals, Department of War practitioners, and college students. It is the prerequisite for the eight-part Future Threats Certificate series and covers how state and non-state adversaries use artificial intelligence, cyber operations, contested space domains, autonomous systems, and proxy forces, with a focus on cognitive warfare through targeted information operations and psychological manipulation. Completing the coursework and capstone assessment takes about 90 minutes, later courses in the series will project adversary tactics five to ten years ahead, and the class is free online via the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security CHDS Self Study account. Prior IWC offerings have surpassed 6,000 enrollments, and the center operates under 10 U.S.C. 345.
