Hornady has widened use of its 4DOF ballistic solver on Leupold rangefinding devices. The RX-5000 TBR/W rangefinder can now run the solver after a free firmware update, following earlier support in the BX-6 Range HD binoculars.

The solver draws on Doppler radar drag data instead of ballistic coefficients alone. It models each bullet design’s physical traits and in-flight behavior to generate trajectory answers across distances and conditions.
