Guns and Whiskey: You Can Now Buy 7-Year-Old Smith & Wesson Bourbon

▶
Listen to Article

Smith and Wesson Brands has joined World Whiskey Society to launch a seven-year straight bourbon sold as the Smith and Wesson 7-Year Classic Edition, the opening bottle in a spirits line drawn from the company’s history.

The whiskey shows graham cracker and vanilla on the nose, sweet cream and light oak spice on the palate, and baking spice with seasoned oak on the finish. Its label copies the look of an old firearm certificate and carries portraits and signatures of founders Horace Smith and Daniel Baird Wesson against a gunsmith shop, plus floral scrollwork taken from traditional engraving. The design marks the firm’s 1852 founding and its first product, the seven-shot Model No. 1 revolver.
