Applications for five Montana grant programs supporting recreational trails and community shooting ranges open Monday, Nov. 16, and will be accepted through mtfwp.webgrantscloud.com.

The Recreational Trails Program uses Federal Highway Trust Fund proceeds from nonhighway recreational fuel taxes for trail construction, maintenance, facilities, equipment and education, available to government agencies, tribes, school districts and nonprofits.

The Montana Trails Stewardship Program, Off-Highway Vehicle Grant Program and Summer Motorized Trail Pass Grant Program fund similar trail projects including OHV maintenance on public lands by nonfederal applicants, while Montana's Community Shooting Range Grant Program helps shooting clubs, local governments and school districts improve public ranges.
