Dark Forge provided a Reaper Comped sample for review of 2011 pistols. The company also builds the Wraith and remains intentionally vague about its origins as a small compliant American manufacturer whose products have featured in media.

Its Reaper Comped left the website for a Ported and Comped successor priced at 7250 dollars while remaining at select retailers. The five inch 9mm double stack 1911 uses billet steel and aluminum, a patent pending compensated barrel, DLC finish with bronze PVD, aluminum grip, ambidextrous safeties and RMR SRO direct mounting plus three 22 round magazines.

Testing showed strong speed and accuracy yet the reviewer disliked the optic setup, oversized mag release, looks and near 7000 dollar non custom price, calling it a show off gun.
