On September 1, 2026, Curtiss-Wright of Ashburn, Virginia, received a contract of about 14 million dollars from Northrop Grumman. The work covers computers that handle incoming sensor data for the U.S. Army Improved Threat Detection System in its second development stage.

The computers will operate with Northrop Grumman’s ATHENA sensor. The two together are meant to help aircraft and their crews survive threats more effectively.
