Adept Armor of Denison, Texas, announced the BulletFoam Torso Pad in October 2026, a 231-gram 10-by-12-inch ballistic panel half an inch thick. On July 8, 2026, Element U.S. Space & Defense of Belcamp, Maryland, found one panel stopped 9mm 124-grain full metal jacket rounds at 1,330 and 1,430 feet per second and a free-standing V50 of 1,385 feet per second for a 17-grain fragment-simulating projectile under MIL-STD-662F. The pad is not rifle-rated or NIJ-listed; Adept Armor suggests a hard plate in front for rifle threats and filed a BulletFoam patent application in August 2026.
