The Double D Foundation presented its 2026 Patriot Award to Pete Brownell, who chairs Brownells and 2nd Adventure Group, during a gathering held October 15 at Black Creek in Georgia. Founder Cindy Daniel praised the third-generation Brownells leader for advancing Second Amendment protections and shooting sports while he earlier headed the National Rifle Association and a sporting goods wholesalers group. The Brownells Foundation has since become a corporate partner of the 2021 nonprofit that seeks more Americans in those sports.
