Funding shortages over two years led March for Our Lives to dismiss most staff and shrink its gun-control campaigns. The organization posted against the National Rifle Association after it praised Kaylub Giamanco for shooting dead a 16-year-old who had used a shotgun he could not legally own to kill a teacher and children aged 5, 8 and 11 at a Bend, Oregon elementary school. Oregon already requires unused firearms to be secured, and similar groups offered no named additional statute.
