Several Democratic congressional candidates in rural districts are discussing firearms as they seek local support. Wisconsin first-time hopeful Mitchell Berman, an emergency-room nurse, has hunted and fished since childhood. He said practical rules can cut gun violence while leaving the Second Amendment intact. South Texas candidate Bobby Pulido has hunted all his life and gave his eldest child the name Remington, taken from the Remington 700 bolt-action rifle. Pulido said more intelligent gun laws are needed yet described bans as lazy lawmaking.
