Jonathan Andrew Tijerina, 31, was taken into custody Monday night after painting his anti-gun website address onto marble surrounding the North Tower reflecting pool at the 9/11 Memorial. He received charges of criminal mischief along with graffiti offenses and tool possession. On Instagram he stated he had applied paint reading just stop killing kids at the location. Workers restored the stonework for about 500 dollars paid by taxpayers and he was freed pending a court date of January 13, 2027. The site he promoted demands universal background checks covering every gun sale plus a nationwide registry, notes that other high-income countries already have both without repealing the Second Amendment, and warns of civil resistance if those measures are not adopted.
