David Ellison posted on X that the nearly complete merger of Paramount Skydance with Warner Bros Discovery will result in a company named Skydance.

He explained the choice preserves the separate identities and longstanding brands of Paramount and Warner Bros rather than creating a hybrid that would rank one behind the other. The name also supplies an independent identity for the combined entity drawn from Ellison’s own studio.
