A man who fatally shot Justin Hill in a Sept. 30 Oakbrook Center mall parking lot robbery attempt will not face charges after prosecutors called it justified self-defense. Chance Jamerson, 29, and Hill, 28, of Dolton sought $2,000; Hill boxed a Mercedes and pointed a gun inside, then the intended victim took the weapon, shot Jamerson in the abdomen, and killed Hill. Illinois law no longer lets prosecutors charge an accomplice in a co-felon's death during a forcible felony, so Jamerson faces no murder count.
