Why doesn’t THIS black life matter to Al Sharpton and Ben Crump??? ✊🏿

The video that’s making the rounds shows a Black teenager in Chicago gunned down in broad daylight by a rival gang member who had no trouble obtaining a firearm despite multiple felony convictions. What’s missing from the usual cable-news outrage cycle is any mention of the shooter’s prior record, the failed prosecution that let him walk, or the fact that the victim’s family is now left pleading with the same politicians who spent the last decade pushing “defund” rhetoric and cashless-bail schemes. Instead of a national press conference, the story is left to local crime blogs and a handful of YouTubers who still bother to name the shooter and trace his rap sheet—because the national civil-rights machinery only lights up when the narrative can be shoe-horned into a “white cop versus unarmed Black victim” frame.

For the 2A community the takeaway is brutally simple: every time a career criminal is released early or a prosecution is pled down to a misdemeanor, the right to keep and bear arms is effectively transferred from law-abiding citizens to violent recidivists. Chicago’s byzantine FOID system and Illinois’ SAFE-T Act didn’t disarm the shooter; they disarmed his potential victims by making lawful carry a bureaucratic obstacle course while leaving the black market flush with stolen Glocks. The result is a two-tiered reality—politically connected activists enjoy armed security details, while working-class families in Englewood or Austin are told that “more gun control” will somehow protect them from predators who already ignore every statute on the books.

The silence from Sharpton and Crump isn’t an oversight; it’s a strategic choice that reveals the limits of their brand. When the perpetrator is another Black teenager with a stolen handgun, the storyline collapses the moment the cameras linger on the shooter’s priors instead of a convenient villain. That leaves the 2A community holding the only consistent position left on the board: the right to bear arms belongs to individuals ready to obey the law, and every policy that disarms them while shielding violent offenders is an implicit subsidy for the very predators these activists claim to oppose.
