In Dallas on Wednesday, President Donald Trump promised a five thousand dollar payment to every adult in the country if Republicans retain majorities in the House and Senate this November.

He made the pledge in his keynote at the Republican National Convention inside the American Airlines Center. He likened the idea to a firm sharing cash with its owners and mentioned a one thousand seven hundred seventy six dollar sum given to troops last year. He required that people spend the money only in the United States, not in Canada, China, or Germany.

He said the plan takes effect solely after Republican wins and argued Democrats could not offer the same because they do not collect revenue through tariffs.
