It was February 24, 1991, the skies over occupied Kuwait were ominously black with dirty clouds blocking out the sun. The 1st Battalion of the 6th Marine Regiment, a critical component of “Task Force Ripper” had just ripped though the double-mine fields emplaced by the occupying Iraqi Army, then the 4th largest army in the world.
