James Talarico said he would vote to prohibit selected firearms and magazines if he reaches the Senate. He tied any such vote to how a bill is written while still treating a ban on assault weapons as acceptable.

NRA-ILA executive director John Commerford said Talarico had committed to supporting that ban.
