SCOTUS Ruling Has Marijuana Users High on Their Second Amendment Rights

This year U.S. v. Hemani held regular marijuana use alone does not automatically prohibit federal firearm possession. A NuggMD poll of cannabis consumers found 26 percent more likely to purchase a firearm, including 41 percent of Republicans versus 26 percent of Democrats, and content director Tyler Elson said patients often ask whether a medical card affects ownership. Form 4473 still lists marijuana as disqualifying without Hemani limits, ATF revisions remain pending, the decision covered only Section 922(g)(3) so some state laws may still apply, and addiction, intoxication, and individualized dangerousness stay unresolved.
