The Second Amendment Foundation prevailed on September 22, 2026, in Harrington v. Crawford after school officials conceded that searching Jack Harrington’s vehicle broke the Fourth Amendment.

SAF sued in October 2025 over a search on Hillsboro-Deering High School property that followed news Harrington legally owned a handgun off campus. He sometimes kept the pistol in his truck under federal and New Hampshire law but never brought it to school. Staff questioned him, phoned his parents, and searched the truck despite refusals from both; the gun remained at home.
