A 16-year-old last week shot his way into Silver Rail Elementary in Oregon. Kaylub Giamanco then took a legally owned handgun onto the campus, where state law forbids that carry, and stopped the attack.

He pursued the shooter inside while police were still arriving and saved an unknown number of lives. Officials so far show no sign they will prosecute him for the campus carry.
