Florida law says handguns don’t belong inside courthouses, police stations, prisons, or meetings of legislative governing bodies. On rifles and shotguns, the statute says nothing. Leon County wants that changed — and it’s asking the state to do something a Florida lawmaker already filed a bill to do.
