A shooting at an elementary school in Bend, Oregon, ended when a nearby person with a firearm killed the 16-year-old who had entered carrying a long gun. Four people died before the attacker was stopped. The youth used a shotgun purchased by his mother, and it remains unknown how he obtained the weapon. Several Democratic senators then posted on X calling for Congress to pass additional gun control.
