The Violence Policy Center issued its 2024 edition of When Men Murder Women, drawing on the latest FBI homicide figures. The report counted nearly 2,400 women slain by men that year, with 86.9 percent of victims acquainted with the offender and guns involved in 63.4 percent of those cases. It examined only incidents that involved one female victim and one male killer.
The center released the document in October to coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
