After completing his shift on September 11, Stephen Siller set out to golf with his brothers. The first plane impact led him to collect his equipment and run 1.75 miles through the closed Brooklyn Battery Tunnel while carrying 60 pounds.

Witnesses last placed him at West and Liberty Streets near the South Tower. Squad 1 lost twelve members that day. No remains of Siller were identified.
