David Lee Jr., 37, died on Labor Day in Mobile, Alabama, after a homeowner shot him when he entered the residence shortly after 9 p.m. Officers arrived at 9:19 p.m.

Police concluded he came in through a window. The homeowner fired several times and struck Lee at least once, causing fatal injuries.

An unnamed neighbor expressed regret over the death while supporting the homeowner’s steps to safeguard his family.
