Billy McFarland, 44, died early Sunday in Minden, Louisiana, after a homeowner shot him several times as he forced his way into a house following a crash on U.S. Highway 80. A 911 call after 5:20 a.m. reported a fight in a speeding vehicle; McFarland allegedly attacked the woman driving, fled the wreck, damaged two cars, and entered through a rear window while holding a knife.

Sheriff Jason Parker said the resident feared for everyone inside, officials expect no charges, and results go to the district attorney, while an autopsy in Little Rock, Arkansas, may reveal why he acted that way.
