Kimber now sells the DS Warrior as an optics-ready pistol that typically costs about $1000, placing it among the lower-priced 1911-style models from the firm. The package includes one 17-round magazine and one 20-round magazine along with an ambidextrous safety, forward slide serrations, a serrated rear sight, a front Tritium night sight, an RMR plate, and a three-slot rail. The same range bag supplied with the 2K11 also accompanies this model.
Kimber began in Clackamas, Oregon, in 1979 as a rifle maker and later added 1911 production. A reviewer fired Black Hills 115-grain FMJ loads from a 20-yard backyard setup in five-shot strings meant to resemble Steel Challenge practice and found the pistol shot well.
