Regional FWP offices in Glasgow and Havre will collect expired and leftover bear spray canisters during September for Bear Aware Month. Region 6 sites accept those cans all month because they cannot go into ordinary garbage.

The collection window lasts only this month, so residents can clear stored containers and obtain a fresh canister before hunting season and other autumn recreation. Anyone who delivers used canisters may enter a drawing for a bear spray storage canister.
