Listen to Article

Ruger Presents Horns of Africa, an eight-part digital series made with Burris Optics, is streaming on the Petersen’s HUNTING website, YouTube, and MyOutdoorTV. Kali Parmley hosts coverage of Southern African plains-game hunts, including antelope and other species plus gamebirds, along with safari life and field methods used with professional hunters in the bushveld.

The episodes also show a school visit, time at Mapungubwe National Park (a UNESCO site at the Limpopo and Shashe rivers), and work with Afrikaans trackers called spoorsnyers. Ruger media director Abbey Clary takes her first trip to Limpopo Province after blue wildebeest, impala, and nyala. Outdoor Sportsman Group programming head Tim Cremin described the second edition as a record of the region and of hunting’s support for wildlife, wild lands, and the communities that rely on them.
