FWP Seeks High School Student for Position on Future Fisheries Review Panel

▶
Listen to Article

Montana wildlife officials are recruiting a current high school student for a two-year volunteer seat on a 14-member citizen panel that evaluates habitat work for wild fish. The related grant effort distributes roughly one million dollars each year toward restoring those habitats, and the panel meets twice annually to assess proposals before advising the state fish and wildlife commission on funding. The governor or a designee names members who reflect varied interests such as farming, conservation, angling and students. Duties include reviewing submissions and attending sessions in mid-June and mid-December, with travel costs reimbursed. Applications remain open until the vacancy is filled via the state boards website or by contacting Bailey Duxbury at 406-565-6995.
