The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is taking applications for two upcoming overnight deer camps designed for women who have not hunted deer as adults. Participants receive safety training and firearm instruction using provided rifles and ammunition, then study habitat, management and shot placement before two mentored hunts and hands-on processing of harvested deer.

Selection precedes a $75 meal fee, and the December camp holds spots for women with lasting physical disabilities that necessitate wheelchairs, braces, crutches or comparable aids. A later crossbow archery camp runs February 19-21 in Pine Bluff, with applications opening late December.
