Springfield Armory won a Spanish contract to furnish the Echelon 4.0FC as the new duty pistol for uniformed members of the Policía Nacional. That agency fields more than 70,000 personnel focused on city policing and presently issues the HK USP Compact. Local coverage in December 2025 first identified the deal, which covers 6,500 pistols for 2.4 million Euros, equal to 2.67 million dollars. The Echelon 4.0FC was chosen ahead of the Glock G45 and HK SFP9 on the strength of a lower price per gun. The configuration appears to be the frame-mounted manual-safety model, consistent with the pistols being replaced and with the example shown in the company announcement.
