Joint Base Andrews in Maryland brought the 5th Helicopter Squadron into existence on August 27. The installation had not added a U.S. Air Force helicopter squadron in 60 years.

Andrews expects to receive the HH-60W Jolly Green II so the squadron can support the base’s continuous operations.
