Beretta introduced a 20-gauge A300 Ultima Patrol this year. The model is a gas-operated semiautomatic shotgun designed for tactical use and fitted with contemporary features.

Mossberg released a 20-gauge 590 the year before as interest in that class of shotgun increased.

The A300 line originated as a sporting shotgun already offered in 20 gauge. Beretta adapted the American-made sporting design into a more compact tactical configuration.
